Past Roelof Nel

Roelof matriculated at Stellenbosch High School in 2000. After school, he worked fulltime as a Missionary in Cape Town amongst the gangs, drug dealers and prostitution networks with the organisation, Straatwerk. He then completed his B.Th and M.Div degrees from Stellenbosch University. During his student years, he was Head Student of Wilgenhof residence, Vice-Chairman of the Student Council and a Council member of the University. He was honoured with the Vice-Chancellor’s award for outstanding performance in Leadership. He also completed a post graduate diploma in Entrepreneurship from Syracuse University (NY, USA).

After his studies, he became a Lecturer in New Testament and trained Shona pastors in Zimbabwe, where he resided at Morgenster Mission Station. During this time, he was working for the Dutch Reformed Church. Hereafter, he was invited to the USA by the World Alliance of Reformed Churches to do further research on Church unity and cooperation.

Roelof returned to Stellenbosch and became Youth and Student Pastor at Stellenbosch Congregation. He is currently studying towards a M.Th (New Testament studies) from Stellenbosch University, where he is also serving as Secretary of the Convocation. He has been with Mosaïek for two years, where he is Ministry Leader for The New Generation (Planet J, Mezo, nFuse).
